2009 Marching Band
For the 2009 fall season, the Coon Rapids High School administration has made a change in the direction of the Marching Band. They are working on making football games at the school more of an exciting event for all the participants and have requested that the Marching Band make some changes to help make that happen. In that effort, we have temporarily changed directions to a non-competition focus.
"4 Decades of Rock"
This year we will be performing a show entitled "4 Decades of Rock" with songs that covers the span of that
genre. This is meant to be in the style of the Big Ten college band approach half time show where the audience
can appreciate what we do more easily.
We will be playing Billy Joel, Journey, Van Halen and Foo Fighteres to bring the crowd, the Cheer Squad, the Dance Team and the other audience members all together in being a part of the fun of the game.

CR Marching Cardinals win first place at 2008 YIM Championships!!!
The band took first place in Class A at the state championships on Saturday, October 25. We were also awarded “Best Percussion” in the caption awards. We performed our fall show, “Defying Gravity,” and competed against 3 other bands in our class. The group advanced to the finals, to compete against bands four times our size, and placed 10th overall. We are very, very proud of our kids this year!
